These pieces are a sampling of work I began in February 2025 at the Vashon Artist Residency. I started by collecting fabric offcuts – stacks of leftovers from the cutting table at a local clothing company. Then I began experimenting with what would happen if I sewed multiples of the same shapes together, trying different arrangements till I found ones that felt the most unexpected. I think of the resulting biomorphic forms as collaborations with the highly skilled professionals who work in the garment trade.
